Courage and strength from the mountains
915 m above sea level on a green terrace overlooking Bad Ragaz and Tamina Gorge is the mountain village of Valens situated. Breathtaking countryside with forests, meadows and mountains. There’s no question: Tamina Valley is one of the most beautiful areas in the Swiss Alps.
This is the location of Klinik Valens, known internationally as one of Switzerland’s pre-eminent rehabilitation centres. We owe our excellent track record to a highly-trained team – and to an inspiring location that stimulates healing. We are also distinguished by a broad range of medical expertise. And finally, there is the thermal water from the famous Bad Pfäfers Spring: Pumped up 215 meters from the depths of the Tamina Gorge, it plays a key role in our treatment and therapy.
Neurology, Neurorehabilitation, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation
Our rehabilitation centre specializes in functional impairments of the locomotor and nervous systems. In our Neurology and Neurorehabilitation Clinic, and our Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation Clinic, we assist in-patients and out-patients from Switzerland and many other countries.
We give you sensitive and competent care
Our diversity is one of our strengths. Many different fields are brought together at our centre. We work as an interdisciplinary team to develop an individual rehabilitation program and support you throughout the entire process – from the post-acute phase to reintegrating you in your family, community and workplace.
Cutting-edge treatment
We pioneer innovative treatment techniques. Our ongoing training, research and links with the global scientific community inspire and help us acquire new knowledge. We combine advanced medicine with ancient healing methods and harness the restorative power of the Bad Pfäfers thermal spring. Our techniques work, as high patient satisfaction levels show.
Putting you first
370 employees, specialized in various fields, are hard at work 24 hours a day to ensure your well-being. Their expertise, experience and initiative are the cornerstones of our superb reputation.
Holistic approach
Today’s rehabilitation methods perceive the human being holistically, and so treat not only physical impairments, but also their psychological effects. That’s why we have high standards not only for medical, but also for social skills.
Expertise and human warmth
We want to help you regain your original physical, mental and psychological faculties. One step at a time. This calls for cutting-edge medicine, therapy and nursing – and the kind of human warmth that inspires trust, confidence and courage. All these factors put together compose our understanding of quality.
Our impressive bed occupancy rate (regularly around 100%)
testifies to our high patient satisfaction, high-quality care, the dedication of our entire team and most certainly the tireless efforts of Professor Kesselring and Dr. Bachmann, our chief physicians, who also engage in important research and publishing activities outside the centre.
