Neurology and Neurorehabilitation
In this Department, we treat patients with neurological diseases or injuries to their nervous system. Brain damage cannot be fully repaired. But even gravely injured patients can recover dramatically, because the brain’s interconnected structure allows it to adapt to new conditions.
We can’t influence this process directly. Instead, our primary goal in neurorehabilitation is to create the best learning conditions. Our patient success rates are the result of teamwork – interdisciplinary, highly capable neurorehabilitation teams working under a physician’s oversight.
Vision and experience at work
Our efforts build on a foundation of extensive experience, study, teaching, in-depth dialog with neuroscientists and in-house research.
By observing our patients’ improvements in learning, we can learn more about neuroplasticity* and brain functions. Indeed, over the past 20 years we have made considerable progress in Valens and helped many people improve their quality of life. And we gladly share our knowledge with others.
